RIP to the Godfather of comics!!

Huge loss to the superhero world, very sad day.

Thanks for all the characters you gave us Stan, still as popular and relevant today as they were all those years ago.

You really were 'The Man'

THEY BOUGHT ME A BOX OF TIN SOLDIERS
I THREW ALL THE GENERALS AWAY
I SMASHED UP THE SERGEANTS AND MAJORS
NOW I PLAY WITH MY PRIVATES ALL DAY.

The characters he created are giants of popular culture. As well known and loved as any Walt Disney or anyone else produced. I couldn't imagine my childhood without Marvel comics. The fact I still read and collect them 50 odd years later is testament to what an affect the 'Marvel Universe' Lee created had on my young mind.
He made 'True Believers' out of us. Nuff said!

Steve Ditko earlier this year, and now Smilin' Stan himself. The Mighty Marvel Bullpen from the Silver Age is looking pretty empty at this point.

"True Believers." "Excelsior!" "'Nuff said!" Quotes that find their way into my conversation and into my thoughts more frequently than I had realized, and all from the soapbox of Stan the Man. His influence will be long-lasting, even on those who were not directly familiar with the man or his work, and extends far beyond the niche pop-culture interests of comic books and superheroes.

Marie Severin died a few moths ago too so as you say, looking pretty empty now.
