Cheers guys. Ade I put the beardy head back on the broken taped up torso because in general that whole body was the nicest condition and all the limbs have matching numbers. He looks quite good for his age! What year would you put him at as a fuzzy gripper numbered L/R4???

Do you know Ross if he was a hard hands orginally ? They are the 1st issue type fuzzies which are pre 73 as that's to the best of my knowledge. When grippers were introduced along with the EE's head.
Face wise he's certainly a very nice one , but difficult to date without his original hands.

He had grippers when I acquired him approx 30yrs ago and still had them till yesterday when I gave him a transplant! He originally belonged to my uncle and doubt very much that he would have replaced the hard hands with grippers. So I'd say he was originally a gripper mate.

That places him Ross at 73 then at the earliest. He has been very well looked after , a nice figure indeed.

Thanks Mark I appreciate the thought mate but he is the better figure so if I feel brave enough for a re-string I'll sacrifice another of my childhood ones to keep it mine! If you know what I mine. For now he is a taped up survivor like myself!

Totally get your drift mate, I'd be the same wanting to keep him in the VAM family. My first restring was after a torso shattered. though in hindsight I think one of the twins might have stood on him when they were out to play. A casualty of childhood play.

Thanks Dal! Though I'll be the first to admit that my bashes are somewhat baseless at moment! I need to think of a basis for a bash! Possibly a 1/6 version of a smaller figure for example. I like the challenge of only using what I have and modifying it a not having to bring in more gear.

My childhood M1 garland rifle like a lot of others had the barrel snapped off so I did a bad repair that can be seen in my earlier photos.. If you look close at one of my 'horseback' photos you will see a slightly better repair job.. Thanks to sparky mark and his tat grab for me on AM day I had a couple to play with so here is a WIP of a custom bolt action rifle I'm doing.... Pics ain't great but this is it so far..

Critisism is as good as praise in my book so hit me with anything!!
