So after a few helpful suggestions from different people I decided to go down the Lego pole route So I drilled a hole in the side of the knee poked the pole through , but it was a bit loose as I had broken a small part of his knee cap. I cut down a washer I had to fill the gap , cut off the pole flush And now he’s as good as new …(nearly )

That`s a great fix , once he is dressed ( as long as he not going to wear shorts ) , he will look as good as new . Be careful putting his boots on .

Ingenious repair! Fully functional and doesn't show from most commonly viewed angles! Nice save of a vintage figure!
