Chips Random Pics

I love the film " Full Metal Jacket " , it`s both humorous and haunting . I have tried to build some of the characters , the search for lookalike or sculpts that at least resembled the characters has taken years ...I am not joking . First up is  " Joker "  , he tells the story through the film ....

I'm always amazed by the amount of detail you have with your men.

That photo of "Animal" looks like a real guy!

Actually, almost all of these pix look like real guys.

It's almost spooky the level of detailed realism you've achieved with these figs!

Super cool and very life like, I very much agree with what Dave said above.
When I saw the joker , I thought I new the face and supprisingly I remembered full metal jacket and the face, But I couldn't remember his name or his role in the film.
It's a fantastic collection of 3 very life figures from the film. There that good,they almost look alive and kicking.

Door Gunner

Impressive detailing once again. The "cool aviator shades" really give these guys some attitude.

Nice attention to posing the figs. Their stances look believable.

The door gunner looks like he's loaded for bear.

I'm guessing the guy in front is the captain, the guy on the right is the pilot?

These are fabulous pictures of the NAM helicopter crew, I especially love the door gunner.

Daryl . The little birds rarely had three crew during there use in Vietnam , it normally existed of just a pilot and door gunner , so they are both pilots in this scenario . I wanted to express that the Air Cav pilots , often decorated or showed off wearing the old style Western hats , and often armed themselves with non regulation revolver pistols and belts . Robert Duvall , portrayed this look in " Apocalypse Now ".

I haven't seen Apocalypse Now in years. Maybe 40? I just remember it was a very dark film.
Like Salvador. As far as Nam goes, I know they used a lot of Hueys. So if the door gunner and Wild Bill
are the crew, who is the figure standing in front?

The pilots are two separate figures and none are based on anybody , I just used the film to give you reference to the hats and belts .

Daryl if memory serves me , you could get those tooth brushes from a few sets that I recall , all many years old now , the ones I remember are Dragons Vietnam M.60 Gunner , Soldiers of the World Vietnam M.60 carded set , I believe one came with the Power Team Bunkbed and Locker set too .

Michael Herr , with Larry Burrows in the background , both based on the real people , as Journalists during the Vietnam War .

More nice figures Chip   it's always a joy to view your posts. You always have great attention to detail. And even although I don't know these guys I now there's a very good chance they will look the same if not a striking resemblance
