Back in 2013 I introduced Frankie to the Forum. He was the first VAM head that I bought, I got him from Sparklebudgie - Brian for a fiver as I recall. He was called Frankie, because back in those days I didn't have any complete VAM bodies, so he was made up of a mix VAM and Cots parts I got from Somekindajoe - Steve, a real Franken-VAM.
But, unfortunately he never really featured in any subsequent posts about the guys at TomK HQ. So, I thought it was about time to bring him back after nearly 10 years of being off-duty.
I had an old DiD body (I think) hanging around, that I had converted to take a VAM head years back, and swapped out the hands with GI Joe Classic Collection Gung Ho grippers... I believe they're called that, please correct me if I am wrong.
Frankie did have a reflock at some point, so you'll notice he has a more grey/blonde look than he did in the original post.
Now he's back as Tom K HQ's proper Franken-VAM.

You've done a fantastic job of rebuilding him I like the look in the grey jumper, but the camo gear looks great too

I like those old DiD bodies , very robust . You should be able to get him in a few poses that VAM can not quite reach , I would make use of that I think , especially in Rifle holding poses ect . He does look good in both uniforms , but I am leaning to the Jumper look too , very espionage .

I personally really like Frankie in his adventuring outfit and especially with the old fashioned camera.

Ol' Frankie looks ready for action after a complete refurb... and a cup or two of coffee to get going again!
Nice to see forgotten figs rediscovered and brought back to full fighting trim!
Looks like it was a fun re-build, too!

It just goes to show, old VAM never die, they just get rediscovered after a long time in storage and go on to have new adventures!

He looks great Ralph. I personally like him in the camo. And you are correct, they are called "Gung Ho grip". I'm guessing a sort of "reference" to the old "Kung Fu grip" from the 1970's.
