It started with a grunt: bamboo house

This my latest project, after trying to copy G.R's wonderful grunts with two of my own , i thought why not build a little diarama to set them off . So started to search for some idea's on the net, i would love to say that this idea was my own but it's a chap from another 1/6 forum, i just elaborated on it, so here it is hope you all like it.



the panels in the front and back apex are made of card that i weaved , i wanted to use rush table mats but they are out of fashion apparently lol. The walls and floor are bamboo place mats.

This pictures gives you some idea of scale, thanks to dan for the fantastic figure he really sets it off, just a few bits left to do tomorrow and thats it finished. Just need a nice location to get some pictures.

This takes me back to Spring, 1966. At that point I was the proud owner of my first G.I. Joe Action Soldier. I had him, a bamboo stick placemat and the film Heaven Knows Mr Alison for inspiration.

Later on it was Lt Robin Crusoe, USN that was inspiration for me and my placemat.

All theses years later I have both movies on DVD but wonder whatever happened to that placemat.

Thanks everyone for the great comments, i did not get the ramshackle look i was looking for with the hooch, thinking of giving it to the grandson to play with for a while, that should sort it lmao. Just need to find the right location then i can take some pictures of it with my figures, cheers again everyone .

Your right tally it would look good with the aussie jungle fighter, i was thinking more on an adventurers shack , i built it so the back will come away so i couild take some pics of the inside. Could not take a chance lighting the candle on the table as picture was taken in my living room lol , the guy lying down has a great read .

Brilliant stuff there well done,too late now but those rush mats they sell as beach mats could have been used in the absence of the dinner placemat.

This hootch just gets better and better. I love it as an adventurer's shack!

Had a mess about this afternoon, took a few pictures from different angles, it's very difficult trying to get the background sky in position this is a 6ft x 4ft board and stll not big enough lol, never mind it's all good fun.
