Yeah, that's a nice one. It's the same bike as the NewRay bike except you build it. I had the good fortune to find one of these at retail here in Edmonton.

It came from Walmart in Missauga (sp ?) near Toronto on a clear out for a few dollars.

I'm not sure, but I think it would look better if I painted it in matt green olive drab, I just don't like the garish camo effect on it.
What do you guys think?

Hopefully the repaint won't take too long especially if you do it before assembly since the frame is OD already! The only areas that have been cammoed appear to be the Tank, Chain Guard, Mud Guards, Forks and Lamps.

'Yes I'll paint it first but in my world everything takes ages.'

PMSL. I can sooooo relate to that.

That's a stunner Brian and will look all the better in OD. Hope you manage to find the time for it.

I've told this story before but I'll tell it again.

About 10 years ago I was out on a warm Summer's evening my wife and dogs. It was dusk and from down the street I heard the familiar growl of a V Twin. The ike came down the street and parked outside of the shop. In the dim light I recognized the lines of a what looked like a WWII motorcycle. I went up and asked the owner if It was a Harley WLC. he said "Close," and told me it was an Indian.

The Canadian and US Governments bought a number of Indian Motorcycles to be tested. The bike he had was used by the Fort Garry Horse HQ in Winnipeg during WWII. He answered an ad in the newspaper about a disassembled motorcycle in boxes for $200. He was elated when he discovered what he had.

Apparently the Indian was used by Commonwealth troops as part of the Lend-Lease program during the war years, so you can realistically use a Tommy as the rider.

Technically this model is a 1948 but I don't think there are any significant changes from the WWII era bike.
