I just saw Black Sabbath tonight in Mansfield MA (aka Boston).  Incredible show.  Tony, Ozzy, and Geezer, with the ex rage Against the Machine drummer. Name??

Holy crap!  Another legendary band (at least 3/4) to add to my list.

I saw the Sex Pistols back in '96 obviously less Sid, still counts doesn't it??

Rick

Yes it counts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers

You probably wouldnt have seen much of SId back in the day either as he was often Gouging out backstage unable to perform Sad

I saw Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten at Finsbury Park tube Station way back in 1978 i must have only been about 7 or 8 but my brother was 15. I remember my brother getting Johnnys autograph. He was really nice and i remember him rubbing my head and asking if i was a Punk or a Skunk. Sid on the other hand was shouting at some girls and was just sneering at my brother and refused to give him his autograph. When Johnny said to Sid cmon sign his book Sid snatched it and signed it "SUGGS" looooooooooooooooooooool

My brother still has them and he always says its still Sids Autograph (Suppose he has a point)

Lotsa good old stuff, and a couple off the new album. Overall just a vintage Sabbath show. I left at Children of the grave, place is impossible to get out of, 2 hour wait sometimes, I was in VIP parking, ut wasn't sure if I'd get out ok, so I split early.

Here's the set list copied from some website.

War Pigs
Into the Void
Under the Sun/Every Day Comes and Goes
Snowblind
Age of Reason
Black Sabbath
Behind the Wall of Sleep
N.I.B.
End of the Beginning
Fairies Wear Boots
Rat Salad
Drum Solo
Iron Man
God Is Dead?
Dirty Women
Children of the Grave
Encore:
Paranoid

To see Sabbath back with Ozzy is beyond awesome, Rick! So cool you saw that show!

A few years ago I took my son to see the Masters of Metal show to see Judas Priest. This was just after they released the Nostradamus album. They were playing with some other bands, Motorhead and a band I'd never heard of called Heaven and Hell. I did a little research and found out that  H&H were none other than Tony and Geezer playing with Ronnie James Dio and Vinnie Appice. I was stoked! Not only were we going to see the Priest, we were going to see Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler!

It was a great show. I noticed all these other old-age metal heads were wearing ear protection. I made my son stick some cotton in his ears, but I took mine out -- I like it loud and wanted to hear it! Twisted Evil

Not much of a pic, but it gives me a good memory to see it.

Thanks,
Brian

Sorry to double-up on posts, but I wanted to mention the new album, 13. Fantastic album and classic Sabbath to me, very true to the original feel of the band back when I was in high school in the early 70's.

Too bad they couldn't persuade Bill Ward to come out of retirement, but the drumming on the new album is superb!

The whole story is just a fluke. A buddy of mine posted on the Trenches that he had seen them in Philly, the day after that show 8-10, which was 1 day before the Boston show 8-12. Well after a couple of pints, I got the balls to say, "I'm going come Heaven or Hell", I was determined. None of my friends could go on such short notice, so I said wtf, I've done it before.... I'm going by myself. I have had problems with my knees after my accident in January, so I asked the parking attendants for a short walk, they put me in VIP parking, 300' from the gates.

Well enough ramblin', it was a great show, and I'm so glad I went! I see that the tour is only in 20 US cities then off to Europe. If you guys on the other side of the pond get the opportunity, and are Sabbath fans, I say give it a go! You won't be disappointed as long as Ozzy holds out.

GIBRI, according to what I've seen online, Bill Ward had a contract issue.  Although I also heard that Ozzy said he was too fat to tour.lol! lol! lol!
