I can even remember my 1st 45 single record.....The Jam , Town called Malice. 1st CD though , Was Neil Diamonds Album for the track beautiful noise as my son was born & he wasn't born very well . So hearing him caused me to buy the CD. I don't really buy them otherwise , Radio easier lol.

Still can't remember, but it was about 1987/8, a compilation of some sort.

"War of the worlds" (Jeff Wayne) was my first LP. But I couldn't remember to save my life my first CD. (And surely it was 15 years later)  Smile  You're way too young Alex  Smile

Alex,

The first CD's were apparently (according to an advert campaign): bullet, jam, treacle and washing machine proof.
They were supposed to work after taking all that punishment - I still can't get the dried treacle and jam out of my CD player! lol!
The early discs were also much thicker in depth and heavier. My first CD was a Sega computer game I think? followed by Nirvana CD's Very Happy

My first CD was Queen's Greatest Hits. Still got it in my car!
My first record was Madness' House of fun back in the late 70's, I think. Came with a floppy vinyl disc which had an interview of the band but I lost it. Probably be worth quite a bit these days if it was mint!

But I do remember my first vinyl LP album, Led Zeppelin, second album!  Cool

I'm going to go with Koenig and discuss my music purchases through the ages...

First 45 RPM record: She's My Girl by The Turtles

First LP record: Black Magic Woman, a compilation album by Fleetwood Mac

First CD: Please Please Me by some "Youngsters from Liverpool"

First Music Download: Bowling Green by The Everly Brothers

I've forsaken vinyl and even though it's really covenient I don't think I'll ever fully embrace digital downloading.

I did wind up purchasing the rest of the officially released catalog of The Beatles (and some Bootlegs) and am in the process of upgrading to the 2009 Remastered Mono and stereo catalogs.

Ahhhhh Ade Town Called Mallice. Loved it but was also sad it was their last song. Strange Town and Down in the Tube Station at Midnight too but the first 45 record I bought was baggy trousers by madness. I think the first cd I bought was a best of T Rex LP

My first vinyl LP was Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, cost me 2.26, still my all time favourite album, my first vinyl single was Slade Mama We're All Crazee Now, cost me 50p. Both bought in 1972.
