The Sabre is right up there for me. It's in the top 3 with the Avro Arrow and the CF104 of my favourite plane.
I was an Air Force brat and the plane I was most aware of as a small boy was the CF104. The stubby wings give it a beautiful and dangerous symmetry. Lawn darts...
But the coolest thing was the sound. The sound of 104's doing flybys overhead is unforgettable.

i remember building the ee lighting in the day think it was black dunno why as surely there was no call any longer for a night fighter , really like the 4sqdn print , a lanc sounds better than a 104 , the sabre and mig 15 are just updates on the 262 , marquess of queensbury rules

TSR2 ALERT!.. Great Britain leads the way in aircraft design! Get your hankies at the ready!
How can I have missed this post, it must have been when I was away. Fantastic stuff, fellas!
I love all the early Jet fighters (The Jet Age). But the King of them all has to be the TSR2 (1966) It was way ahead of the competion worldwide at the time, it was almost a Star Wars X-Wing Fighter, it could probably outrun one easily! This beautiful bird could easily outrun an English Electric Lightening doing full speed. The TSR2 also had four on-board digital computers (in 1966 ) This documentry is definitely worth watching, most of the Brit classics are in there. I know it's a long one but this is a must watch, of one of our finest flying creations. The TSR2 was replaced by a cheap bizarre foreign knock off type thing, the F4 Phantom
There's a TSR2 at Duxford air museum, I've touched and filmed a static one, and what a lovely sight!
