Nice shots Barney and loving the outfit you've kitted him out in.

Thanks Rossini Very Happy

Commando bash..

Vintage figure, jacket & trousers, 40th hat & weapon, DML scarf webbing & grenades.

Uniform was filthy but a good soak and a press brought it up a treat.

BBi hands fitted to vintage pegs.

Grenades are metal, quite heavy and it was tricky to achieve this pose (with old joints!)

Para - A while back whilst still putting him together; I must dig him out of storage and take a few current pics of him in the complete state.
Belt in pic is 40th (now replaced) and superbly tailored denims again by Lui66.

Figure had lead a tough life prior to my possession and again required many applications of spot cream to remove red marker pen.
The face had seen some unwelcome attention from a razor blade or scalpel and whilst I could have used a better figure it seemed only fair that a guy who had lead such a tough life deserved to be a Para.

Liking your random Pics barney_leadhead, awww it's a pity that never got any further with the story because looking at the group of shots it could have looked an intreston story. Im also liking the snaps of your Vintage guy in the garden.

Thanks Ackie - there is always a possibility that the story could be continued.... Assuming he survived whatever was out there Shocked

Garden shots were generally taken as a personal record of progress so many incomplete figures were 'shot' at various stages.

As most of these figures have been packed away for over two years looking back through them is proving very interesting .

PostSubject: Peter The Pilot   Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:12 pm

Odd one this. Figure came with a home-brewed (thick square) elastic replacement where the original thigh pins had been changed for steel (nails) peined over at the ends.
I stuck him in a 40th Action Pilot outfit as he kind of reminded me of my original red-head.

Far from perfect and with a gently smoothed nose (with very fine wet & dry) I do like him.

And why Peter.....

This guy was 'shaved' to look a little more like me than my original 40th avatar but as I didn't take a clear enough shot of him it didn't happen.
Sweater was a fantastic one-off by Lui66 and he is wearing DML combat trousers in this shot.
Seem to remember that the arm elastic really needed replacing but again as he is packed away I can't be sure.

There was a time when I took a figure out whenever we went away for a day or a weekend.
Here he is travelling First Class on the Gloucester & Warwickshire Preserved Railway - weather looks rather familiar Rolling Eyes

A couple of RAF 'Chaps' and a real mixture of vintage and 40th.
Fuzzhead probably has his arms behind his back as he didn't have hands at this time pale

Proper vintage dodgy eyes!

We saw this guy earlier in a slightly different environment so maybe he made it out of the forest!

Thanks actionman2272 - going back through my photobucket pics is a trip down recent memory lane and I'd forgot that they were all on there.... plenty more on my hard drive to be uploaded as I get make time.

I wasn't that happy with the 40th grippers so chose the BBi for any non-hard hand figure. At the time as they were plentiful, cheap and relatively easy to fit once I'd done the first set.

I am loving your original 40th avatar mate, the gray Sweater looks good on him Smile , you know you can still tack a figure out whenever you go or tack him when you go away for a day or a weekend, age doesn't matter it's all about having fun with your vam and most important taking pictures Laughing
Keep the random Pics comming mate.

Thanks Ackie - Adventurer was really my joint favourite AM figure 'back in the day' so buying a fresh 40th version was quite exciting.

My other favourite was my dark fuzzhead and as he was my first 'new' figure (I had a red PH that my parents bought for me second hand) I began to get quite upset that his grippers were gradually breaking - didn't know about replacement hands back then No

I got out of the habit of taking a figure out a while back but you are 100% right - it is important to have fun which I've probably been lacking in for a while.
Hopefully being part of this new forum can serve as the boost I need cheers

Vintage figure, 40th outfit & hands, custom tailored trousers by Lui66 - I seem to recall that the 40th version was horrible and shiny.

I took him to France back in 2009 but didn't take any pics of him.... he don't look too 'appy about it Shocked
