Very impressive show!!! Amazing amount of Jerry Armour and with all the WWII displays, they still fit in Viet Nam and Blackhawk Down. Love seeing the Spits and the ME was cool too. Hope those winter Jagers didn't get heat stroke -- that's sacrificing for your art for sure. affraid

Thanks for all the photos Andy!

Great photos!!!  cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers

I bet you had a great day there  Wink  I'm liking those dune buggy vehicles, one of them looks like it has an 'anti-tank missile launcher'! The snow diorama is "Cool"  Wink
I like the 'Bf109E-1' That's what I think it is, and the pilots waiting in their deckchairs for their call to air action.
Excellent upload, Andy!  Very Happy

I agree Andy, Great photos. Looks like a fantastic day out. A lot of effort put into the whole day by the looks of some of the displays, it looks really well done. Thanks Andy, great thread.

Thanks for the comments guys, the tanks used in the arena are modern repros built for film use then later purchased by re-enactment groups, there is currently a film being made with Brad Pitt about a sherman crew which a lot of these vehicle and re-enactors will be in,as one of the commentators said to own the real deal would cost hundreds of thousands and you wouldn`t be throwing it around a mock battlefield.
A few more for your enjoyment

Excellent bonus shots, Andy, thank you!!!

Nice to see some British vehicles, that LRDG truck and the Universal Carrier are too cool!

Love the Luft. re-enactor sitting in the shade under the wing of his plane -- I think even I could do that! bounce

Interesting to learn about those reproduction vehicles for the Pitt film. We've come a long way from repainted Pershings and calling them Tigers, lol.

WOW, what an amazing event! Thanks very much for sharing all these excellent photos! I think my favorites of all are the Spitfire and Hurricane, but it's ALL fascinating. I'm glad to see in the last set of pics above, it appears the Tommies were gaining the upper hand over the Jerries, with the latter beginning to yield some prisoners ... including a Hitlerjugend! I'm not going to object to a historical reenactment, but I have to say I do find that particular detail just a wee bit chilling, regardless of the heat. Good fun all the same.

Sorry if you already said this and I missed it, but where did this event take place? Does it happen every year?

Wouldn't this be a great place for an epic display by 1:6 collectors? When I saw the picture of the Mulberry diorama indoors, my first thought was that it might be a 1:6 tour de force by Kampfgruppe von Abt; but of course those vessels in 1:6 would fill up a whole gymnasium.

Fantastic pics! Looks to be an amazing day. I see the posters advertising it when I'm out and about but I've never got around to going!

These pix just blow me away! I thought the Brits were really stuffy about the private ownership of guns and here we see machineguns and TANKS! WOW!  affraid

Fabulous upload Andy you too Jet. Now I've seen what I missed I think I will take my stepson next year.

What I'm left wondering is how those winter troops managed to stop the ice bricks and snow from melting  bounce bounce bounce
