Have given the bike a bit of a clean the white is still faded though. I could bleach her I suppose but she still looks fine. Have added the stickers I was given by Mark (wolf).

Nice bike.

I never had any success in cleaning faded white. How did you try to get it white ?

I've read somewhere that hydrogen peroxide would be effective, but haven't tried out so far.

Many thanks Vaughn.
To be honest with you she wasn't that bad when I got her just needed new stickers. I put her in the bath full of hot water and cleaned her up with a sponge and some soapy don't trust myself with bleach.

My god NEVER use bleach With all the chrome work still on the bike,it will remove all the chrome. And it will not help get the bike back to white.
I use a white kitchen cream cleaner and a sponge on the white plastic only and it helps.

Thanks for the tip Vaughn that is the reason I didn't use bleach I was afraid of doing more damage to her

Super bike you have there. they really are an iconic AM piece. Again, another one I didn't have as a kid but do now. I was wondering about bringing it back to white myself also. I know many might tremble at the prospect, but what about a gentle sanding with fine paper? To be honest yours looks fine to me, kinda similar to my own. I was just thinking it might work as I sanded my ( I'm almost afraid to say this...) policeman's helmet...(stop...) and it came out a nice shade of white...(dear god!!!) so it could work on the bike too. Better to try it on a damaged example first I'd say.

Yes, very fine wet and dry with plenty of soap is great on flat surfaces like the petrol tank, frame but be careful when you get to fine detailing, rivet heads etc as wet and dry will take this out as well. Your best bet is a white cream kitchen cleaner, toothbrush and lots and lots of elbow grease.
