Finally as if 1977 wasn't exciting enough Palitoy would blow or minds once more before the end and release perhaps the biggest deviation since Atomic Man and gave us "BULLET MAN". He is an extremely rare boxed figure to find and was made with the same physique as Tom Stone therefore he would also disintegrate over the years leaving us collectors with a very tricky restring. He was issued with a Flight cord wrapped around a cardboard spool. He was also the only other figure to not have the addition of a scar but again he was marketed as a "Member of the Action Man Team".

Again. Just love it. My mate had one of these new. I wasn't that keen at the time. His parents bought him all the non military VAM.

You've made up my mind Danny. Once I've bought my 78/79 TC it's this or the desert fighter next Wink BOXED

Brilliant Dan, I always wondered what the flight line looks like. Nice. I would love a few boxed figures but never have really been able to afford them as I spend to much on lots etc. I think I might save my cash and try get a few boxed figures myself. Yikes there goes my wallet.

Any toy that has chrome parts is always going to be at the top of my Christmas list Wink That's a very desirable figure you have there Dan! Expensive too!
At the moment i'm enjoying toy chrome, via RC quad bikes for my vam/MAM, they're being raced around the garden and over ramps! Very Happy

High price to pay for nostalgic purposes, think of all the nice vam things that could be gotten with bulletman funds!! instead of a crappy wannabe superhero! Everyone to their own but someone was laughing all the way to the bank in 77 muttering something about "kids will buy any old crap" Wink

Oooooooooh Ross you have been a grump lately Mad

This is now one of the most popular vintage figures out there. In its time It was also highly sought after and the kiddies loved it.

There's an old saying Ross "quantity fills shelves but quality enhances shelves"

One day I might even tell you who told me that Shocked

Not a grump Danny lol , I just don't like BM! I don't like carded/boxed stuff either! I just like old odd random crap to play with like when I was a kid, I don't see value or worth only memories of the toy that I loved.... Oh! Did I mention that I don't like bulletman? Lol

Really Brian??  lol!  lol!

BOXED BULLET MAN 1977 Bullet%20girl_zpsxehwyvva

Bullet man certainly isn't short of fans as the D.O.B  (Defenders of Bullet man) group proves but I'd say his release was the moment the Action man franchise jumped the shark. Along with the likes of the Intruder and Gorgon, Bullet man signalled a dumbing down of the line.  I think it’s to the Palitoy design team’s credit that they can say they had nothing to do with these characters but just inherited them from Hasbro’s GI Joe line.

No doubt about it! Now, that's what I was talking about!

Otherwise, I'd have to agree with you Steve. Never quite thought of Bulletman as "jumping the shark" but...yup, that pretty much nails it.
