The Jap soldiers look great! I'm liking the fab looking field radio, too! It's always nice to see outdoor photos of figures in action. I've heard of 'Combat', a tv serial from the 1960's I think?

As always, Bri, your HD photos are something special, they have excellent clarity cheers cheers cheers

Thanks Clive!!! Combat! ran for 5 seasons from 1962-1967. It was my absolute favorite show as a kid and G. I. Joe came out right in the middle of it. I've probably told this story too many times, but once I got in trouble and my mom wouldn't let me watch it. I was so upset I dreamed that I got up in the middle of the night and watched it. geek

Thanks Jim, I believe it was pretty common throughout the war in all theaters.

There were two versions of this figure. I don't think it's too hard to find, but is a little pricey with that fuselage section.

Mostly the same, but the fuselage section was modeled on a latter version B-17G with a fixed window and silver (bare metal) color as opposed to the olive paint. And the HS was different.

Clark Gable would be cool!

Thanks,
Brian

Very desirable figures!!!

The detail is amazing on DID uniforms, i like that leather effect on the jacket and pants, is it real leather?. At Royal Duxford in the uk (Huge air museum) they have a separate American Air Museum, and one of the exhibits is part of a WWII bomber (midsection and machine gun post) which you can walk up inside and man the machine gun, the exhibit had a unique smell of old metal and paint, it's very similar to your DID one above.

As usual, your short comic strips are sharp, great photos again, Bri! cheers cheers cheers

Thanks Jim! For a long time after I started collecting again I would only buy vintage or CC Joes, then Dragon came out and I got hooked. They took detailing to a higher level and kept coming out with WWII figures which were always my favorite. Plus, I always wanted some Jerry's. Had the Hasbro Japanese figure but never had the German.

Not real leather, but close. The boots are real leather. One of my pet peeves is when manufacturers call these synthetic materials leather. I like the term "pleather" for the man made stuff.

Love to see that museum -- sounds great!!!

Thanks,

Thanks Jim, Naugahyde was made in my home town by Uniroyal, formerly Ball Band rubber company, made "Red Ball Jets" gym shoes. Everyone in town knew somebody who worked there. I still have a pair of rubber boots from the company store (seconds, with the red ball cut off).

They went out of business years ago and a few years ago they imploded the factory. Everyone in town turned out to watch the demolition.
