New G.I. Joe was eventually replaced by the Allies of Justice, which in turn were replaced by Henshin Cyborg, which was subsequently replaced by Android Ace and Invader. 1:6 scale figures were finally dropepd entirely in favor of the 3 3/4" Microman figures. It wasn't until the 1980s that 1:6 scale figures made a comeback in Japan. Initially this was with Tsukuda's release of overstock Palitoy Action Man toys, and ended with the final trio of Tsukuda Original Action Man sets, like this U.S. Marine Corps figure.
