The new weapons thread.

Spray booth ( ok..so it's a cardboard box ).... check!
Spray paint undercoat ..check!
Glue...check!!
New craft knife.. check!
8 long weapons kits .. check!
Expendables 1,2 and 3 DVD ... check!

It's gonna be a great night  

Unfortunately all of my paint has had it..well it was in the loft for about 8 years  

So no top coats today, but as my plastic filler had gone rock hard it's cool.

I'm going to hopefully chronicle the whole build from start to finish.

I decided to build the mini gun first. This is what you get in the kit...



Easy to follow numbered instructions. Although they are tiny so you need good eyes..and better light than I've got here.

Be aware when test fitting that some of the bits don't come out again once pushed home. I used glue quite sparingly as not all of it need gluing.

Here's the finished gun. Just needs undercoating and painting...



The barrels spin. Haven't fitted the ammo belt yet.

I think once dry it should stand up to being handled by an adult... might be too delicate to let a kid play with though,but I think it will look cool in the hands of a VAM....now why didn't I bring one with me lol

Looks great! Definitely a good weapon to drop hordes of attacking Zombies. I stuck my finger down one of the barrels of a Gatling Gun at Duxford, it was on a A-10 Warthog tank buster aircraft, now i know why my right index finger glows in the dark lol!

Now why don't Airfix do something similar in 1:6 scale? Imagine Aifix kits for 12" action figures, polar dog sledge kit with huskies, equipment boxes, weapons and helmets, all waiting to be glued together and painted.

I agree Airfix should definitely get into 1:6 scale accessories and weapons. Although the stuff I've got from this fella have been top notch so far.( A pistol arrived today.) And the prices are very good too.

It's a few weeks wait as they are coming from Taiwan. I can post a link to his eBay if anyone is interested...he does all sorts of things.

I've started wearing glasses since I last painted models.. which doesn't help. Good job I've got a magnifying lamp.

I did 2 pistols..which came out ok and 2 machine guns...one of which I'm very happy with and one that got re-undercoated because it was rubbish.

Going to try and make the other pistols different.. different grip colours and different body finishes.

Also going to camo some of the rifles/machine guns.... otherwise they will all look the same. Once they are painted I will give them all slings too.
