PostSubject: Pair of WWII Combat Yanks   Fri Dec 02, 2016 4:11 am

I've managed to put together a pair of WWII American Soldiers. When I find a nice spot (or two) to take some pictures, I would like to take a series of photos of these two.

One figure is Joe, one is Clint. Not sure how this all fits into my universe. Ancestors perhaps? (Would explain the resemblance)

This is Joe. He's wearing all vintage Joe gear, except for his helmet and rifle, which are Joe40 Issue.

This is Clint. He's wearing his 40th AM fatigues and boots, a vintage Joe Combat Jacket, 40th AM Helmet and Ammo belt, and a Reproduction Joe M-1.

This is their vintage .30 Caliber Machine Gun. (Browning M1919)

I figure I'll have them play as paratroopers, sometime after Operation Market Garden, because American Paratroopers were issued a complete set of M-43 gear for the Jump. The Combat, or "field" jacket that we all know and love as GI Joe's, or Action Man's, 60's Combat Jacket is the M-43 type.

Don't have a name for Clint's father/uncle yet, but Joe will probably stay Joe.

Stay tuned...

My Joe Tent is the Marine type (Frogspot Camo), but I do have several sand bags. And I have one Vintage Joe sleeping bag, so I think I'll just have them sitting in foxholes, or on the move.

The boys have been changed a bit since their last appearance, and I've given them WWII names.

Left to right: Staff Sgt. Joseph D. Colton, Sr., and Cpl. Lewis McTavish.

For the purposes of these WWII photographs, Joe and Clint play their fathers, both American WWII Veterans.

I've swapped out Clint's 40th AM Belt for a Vintage Joe one (to match Joe's), and given him a 40th AM scarf.

The Vintage Machine gun has been replaced with a 40th "Stunt" machine gun that I got with a D&V Sgt. Rock Uniform set. I've swapped it because I figured the 40th one could handle the cold better.

Also, I'd like to add, Joe is a GI Joe, Clint is an Action Man, for those of you who aren't all caught up on my Action Men by name.

Great pictures. That's quite some snow they've got there. I don't think you can beat pictures in the snow personally.

Great looking GIs! I made two GIs from the 26th Yankee division that is/was composed of New England National Guard units. One is a vintage Joe in vintage/repro gear; the other was the prototype made from DML and BBi pieces.
