Thanks Jim!!!

We have some roses too. They are antique(?) ramblers that have been handed down for generations. They produce tons of blooms, but they are out of control. I have nightmares about trying to cut them back.

Lovely burst of flower colour Bri, it gives me a buzz and it's very calming too Very Happy

That's a mighty fine looking quad bike you have there, I have a very similar looking one in that colour, which I've used to chase my dog round garden in the past, nice comic strip too. Very Happy

It's a nice bit of AT kit that quad, I'm a big fan of 1/6 quads.. the yellow and black contrasting colour is very 1970's and perfect for the Adventure Team, very cool.. good comic strip too! cheers

Sometime in the future I will take a few pics of my quads and post them... I think I've only shown two of them so far, there's also a brand new boxed one that I've not shown yet, it's an orange colour, I only payed £3 for it at a boot sale charity stall Very Happy

Thanks Ade! The colours are what first attracted me to the AT.

Thanks, Clive, these Quads were very inexpensive if you found them on sale. I don't remember how much, but I'm sure this one didn't cost a lot.

Bat flowers also come in white but I'm not sure they would survive outside in UK or USA winters. Here of course it stays out all year round.

I do have a bit of a fancy for growing "exotic" stuff. Currently trying to get my vanilla orchid to set fruit...they have to be hand-pollinated. It's a tricky business and this can only be done for about the first three hours after the flower opens in the morning. Hopefully I got it right and in time!

Then there's THIS spectacle of The Queen of the Night in full flower. It only flowers at night (hence the name) and then only for the one night. Miss it and it's all gone by morning. Last time it flowered there were over 100 blooms!
Unfortunately no video can convey the incredibly beautiful and very heady perfume it gives off.

Here where I live we are all envious of your magnificent roses. Yes they will grow here but the humidity makes them very prone to black spot etc. It's just too warm and so the bushes themselves tend to be very short lived. Yours are so beautiful. Do you have to spray them?

As a gardener you'll probably agree with what I'm about to say.
Isn't it amazing how we all want to grow that which will not thrive in our particular area. Frangipanis, hibiscus, ginger lilies, heliconias, gardenias, ... all sorts of bright, spectacular and colourful species thrive here, but we all envy roses, lilacs, all those beautiful bulbs that need cold winters, and peonies, ....specially peonies. How I'd love to get one to flower , even just once.
And I've tried, believe me! Even buying bags of ice and producing artificial frosts for the damn things!

Took me many years of trail and error of roses to find ones that do well here without having to spray...

Double Knockout rose
Carefree Celebration rose
Earthsong  rose
Miracle on the Hudson rose
Campfire rose
