| Christmas drinks at SKJ HQ.. Kick back... Have a drink... ..and admire the view! Maybe even play some party games. 'Review the Action Figure' is always good for a laugh. My son's a comedian! Mixed in with the usual dad gifts of socks and smellys was a Action Man sized box. Feeling hopeful I opened it, but found this!! The two loves of my life are comics and action figures. The bane of my life now is how modern 'creators' (I'm using the term ironically) besmirch the legacy of both. Aquaman here is, for me, all that's wrong with the world! But back to the game.... He commits the usual modern figure crimes of having moulded on clothes and zero accessories, but he does bare a passing resemblance to the character in the movie. Another plus point is that he has long arms, something sadly and embarrassingly missing from another recently released figure I could mention! He kick's that guy's ass in the articulation stakes too. He moves about as well as a 1960's Marx. He's a little short in the 1/6th stakes but probably still taller than a second hand, 're-purposed' Ken body. He may have a 'Blockbuster movie franchise tie-in' but he hasn't got a 'Toy of the decade' brand name legacy to cash-in on/exploit/desecrate. I know I'm not the 'Target demographic' and 'Price points' don't interest me, but I was just relieved to unwrap him and not see T-rex arms! ...and why do drinking and party games always end up in an argument? As modern figures go, Aquaman wasn't that bad but by boxing day he was where he belonged! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | Aquaman looks the kind that might like a golden shower, to freshen up after a bit of rough and tumble with the boys... _________________ RalphMe? Well, I live life vicariously! My Action Man? Well, he lives life victoriously! See my photos @ Flickr | |
