| I had a box or two of these as a kid too. I remember the 2nd issue box but I have to say I love this earlier one with the legionnaire about to bayonet the Berber tribesman on the front! Like you'd be able to show that these days! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. | |

| Yeah, HAT had a license to remember issue some of the Airfix figures a while back.
They did some of the rarer ones like Tarzan as well. _________________ WHO WATCHES THE VOLGANS... | |

| yeah, I had a set or two of the Airfix figures myself as a kid. I had to have them after seeing the 1966 remake of Beau Geste: the one with Guy Stockwell, Doug McClure, Telly Savalas and Leslie Nielsen. | |

| Someone I knew in high school in 9th grade actually who was pissed off he wasn't old enough to have fought in Vietnam first joined a local reserve regiment, the Royal Montreal Regiment. Disappointed that Canada was not at war anywhere, he went to France off to join the Foreign Legion, found it awful and deserted, then joined the Spanish Foreign Legion.
Needless to say, he was a bit of a nut.

"To forget!"I like the way the illustration on the first Robin Hood box obviously resembles Errol Flynn. Best Robin Hood movie ever. _________________ ... DAVE

| Illustration used in my generation was the one on the middle box. I always rather thought that the officer in the center rather resembled the late American actor David Hedison (Voyage to the Bottom of The Sea) and looks rather desperate and regretful that he's taken his command on a sortie beyond the safety of the fort's walls. | |
