Great looking detail work, Mark!!!

Really looking forward to seeing them on the boat. That chair cracks me up. I don't remember that part from the movie. Amazing how much you can miss, even though I've seen the movie a half dozen times.

cheers cheers cheers

Not a bad shark model, but it will still fall short of the reported length of Bruce in "Jaws".

In the movie the shark was supposedly 25 feet in length. Of course that was something of an exaggeration to make it more scary. It takes an absolute monster to reach even 20 feet in the wild, with most of them coming in around 15 to 16 feet mark.
If my maths is correct (and the dimensions given in that ad) the one you are contemplating measures around 2 foot long, so times 6 equals a scale of just a 12 feet shark.
(That's based on the fact G.I Joe is one foot high and is said to represent a 6 foot man.)

I think you might be disappointed when that shark sits next to your perfectly in-scale "Orca".

It seems nigh on impossible to find any model shark that would approximate a 25 footer in 1/6 scale.

Totally agree, with you Very Happy trying to find a a Shark model hopefully with a bit of camera angle could make it look bigger lol Twisted Evil

Stunning work there Mark!! I was thinking about your absent shark issue and wondered if you could pick up something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/13032164074?iid=263917000108&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=263917000108&targetid=856746142680&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045741&poi=&campaignid=6744139860&mkgroupid=89867799113&rlsatarget=pla-856746142680&abcId=1139126&merchantid=114968186&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl_7ase2k5wIV1_hRCh10bwmPEAQYAiABEgIhQfD_BwE
And then possibly fabricate the rest of the body from polystyrene or building insulation for example? Just an idea i thought id throw out there.

I have several of those exact same things Rossini, but in reality they are not really any bigger than the full sharks that are available so in reality you're better to go with the full models and save yourself the effort of sculpting the body.

See here:

                 ORCA - Page 3 KLAxIK

You could consider modelling the boat sitting on the water with just a large 1/6 scale fin going past as in where the crew are trying to attach the 3 floats by harpoon?
This avoids having to show a full scale shark, and still faithfully represents a scene from the movie.
You could even paint a large dark shadow on the water.

You might also consider doing the "We're gonna need a bigger boat" scene with just the shark's head being visible out of the water.
That would also spare you having to contrive the huge body.

I`m going to order one of the shark heads, to do a photo of it coming out, plus with the Ariel view of the shark going under the Orca Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
