| If all goes according to plan, I should be able to acquire another VAM before too long.
I'd like to give him a sailor's backstory. What ship should he have served on?
Should I go for,
HMS Victory HMS Ark Royal HMS Fearless HMS Renown
Or should he be former shipmates with Hank and Spud aboard the Dreadnought?
Then, there's the allegedly rare HMS Belfast.
Or should I get a random sailor's cap from eBay and see which ship I get?

| I like the random surprise idea!
I'm curious which Ark Royal you had in mind: the recently decommissioned third one, the 1950s-1970s one, or the one sunk by a U-Boat in WWII? _________________ ... DAVE

| In all likelihood, the 1970's one. All those ship names were possibilities with your 1970's AM Sailor. | |

| No guesses about which ship I think you should go with! HMS Dreadnought all the way. The ex-ship of AMMO's most famous sailors Hank and Spud. It'd be an 'old school' badge of distinction. A quick google shows quite a history to Dreadnought too. The first was launched in 1553 and there have been nine vessels since. The last, and VAM era, one was a nuclear submarine operational between 1960 and 1980. The tenth HMS Dreadnought, another submarine, is due in 2028! Go Navy! Go Dreadnought! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. | |

Hey, I think the old sea-dog heartily agrees Steve He's itching to get his old uni on now!! Good luck with your acquisition AY. Hank and Spud would be happy to have an old colleague along. Go Dreadnought indeed !! _________________ Real heroes don't die... they just reload.

| Very well, start drafting memories of Hank and Spud's featuring a man name of 'Pierce Daltrey,' who had a brother named Tim in the Para Regiment. | |

| Daltrey eh ? .. sounds familiar to the chaps alright ! Had a cousin too didn't he? Spud reckons he started a band up back in the day... _________________ Real heroes don't die... they just reload.

| Well, getting a little off topic, I just happened to see a certain band with a singer by the name of Daltrey a few days ago near Chicago. Touring with an orchestra and his long time band mate name of Pete, and a drummer with the name of Starkey. Oldest crowd I remember seeing at a concert, and they still got it! And my son bought the tickets. | |

It's a job the Small Faces' Kenney Jones has done in the past too. I get the feeling that in about 20 years you'll end up with one generic band made up of the survivors of the groups that lead the 'British Invasion'! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. That's right Steve, talkin' 'bout our g..g..generation. The real problem is a lot of those geezers were younger than me... Well, actually, it was Son of Ringo...Zak Starkey. He's been The Who drummer for a while now. Long enough to go grey himself. They put on a great show! Roger can still belt it out and Pete still has the chops. One of the greatest shows I ever saw was The Who in 1975, Indiana University at Bloomington
