| Decisions, ...decisions! I bought a MAM Stalker with the primary intent and purpose of kit-bashing him into a native chieftain for a photo-story I'm planning. However he arrived in such perfect condition with pristine uniform and all his accoutrements intact, (even all the grenades still at his belt!) that now I'm reluctant to remove anything from him at all. It's different when you get a naked figure, because then you feel free to do anything, but when you come across something preserved intact that has obviously been in someone's much loved collection rather than played with by a kid, I do get this urge to leave it as it is. If and when I leave this life and go off to the Big Action Land, I do hope that some of my men will find good homes and be kept just as they are. |

| Maybe look for a second figure? It would be a shame to change him if he is in great condition | |

My thoughts exactly! When you buy something second hand, and particularly action figures, you kind of expect them to arrive somewhat in disarray and missing pieces from the original release. This bloke still has all his GOLD grenades on his belt and they only clip on very loosely. Small stuff like that is invariably lost during play. Even his assassin's knife in his hand! And it only sits there, not held on in any way. My imagined kitbash involved more than just a change of clothing. New hair, body paint etc. so it looks like I'm still after a figure for my cannibal chief! Oh well! |

I also seem to remember seeing a Navaho Code Talker on offer somewhere? (It was a speaking model too I think.) For my purpose mentioned above I was going for a South Seas Island sort of scenario rather than a native American scene. |

| Further to my deciding NOT to repurpose the miraculously intact Stalker figure that I intended to make into a cannibal chief, I found this little bloke in a charity shop. Now he's NOT 12" tall, but just over eight inches, and apparently represents a famous wrestler. He sure does have one huge gut, but he's well articulated and quite able to be posed in various ways. Anyway I gave him a preliminary quick "cannibal" makeover to see what he would look like. My thoughts were that maybe I could use him as some sort of pygmy tribal member due to his not being anywhere near the height of my MAMs? I would of course make his outfit more detailed, and in scale but I'm a bit concerned about those black wrestling boots he's wearing. They are NOT removable. Don't want to make the grass skirt any longer or he'll start to look too "hula". Thoughts? |

| Hummmm....Yes the boots would be a concern! Otherwise he would look great as a pygmy tribal member! What to do with those boots though?... _________________ JIM...

| Pretend the boots were souvenired from a downed airman or soldier who became his dinner? |

| Actually, yes, "souvenir" boots is a good idea. Give him a few more pieces of "western bling," like a wristwatch, sunglasses, a cap, a pistol belt, or some uniform remnants, so it would look even more like he keeps mementos of his prisoners/victims/enemies.
Alternatively, you could add a little bit of grass around the tops of the boots, and then glue or paint some straps on the boots to make them look like sandals.
Third option: always make sure he's standing behind something.
He's looking pretty formidable already. He will be a force with which to be reckoned, even if he's only 4 scale feet tall! _________________ ... DAVE

Great idea, ...but he was a charity shop find and I don't like my chances of scoring a "tribe"! |

| Actually, upon further thought, my idea of him having purloined the boots from one of his victims doesn't really stand up. If that was so, and the boots did come from normal sized adults, then they would undoubtedly be FAR too big for his little feet. Well unless he has a diet of strangely shod children that is? |
