I'm a great fan of his home-made art work!
He even remembered that the rear funnel of Titanic did not belch smoke!

That is correct! Ol' Sailor Joe read a lot of books about the Titanic when he was a kid! Wink

I have a HUGE library of books about "Titanic"!
(I know because I'm currently trying to pack it up and shift it!)
Must have bought every damn publication that was ever released.

I also have quite a few models of the ship, from large to one tiny one in a bottle. That plus a series of plates, quite a few pieces of other assorted memorabilia, ...even a small copy of the Steiff black "Mourning Bear" that was released for people to carry around just after the disaster.

Then there's a few paintings, more than enough DVDs, and best of all, an ACTUAL small piece of the real Titanic, courtesy of a very astute bloke I had been communicating with for some time who was accompanying "The Big Piece" as it was being transported by semi-trailer and it accidently fell over!
He quickly gathered up all the debris and was kind enough to share some with another avid collector.
Here's the newspaper report of the incident.

The item itself pictured above is apparently currently on display in the The Artifact Exhibition in Luxor Casino in Las Vegas, (of all places!)!
When it was first lifted from the seabed it was much taller vertically, but it has now been cut in half supposedly in an attempt to make it easier to display.
I think this is akin to cutting down the Mona Lisa to fit a rather nice frame Le Louvre happened to find!

In a secret grotto deep beneath the ruins of Spandau Prison:

SCU-HQ: Like, Whateverz - Page 11 April20
20 April - "Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You!"
A Hearty Toast to our Leader
Whose Teachings and Tactics are Alive and Thriving
And Which Have Been Embraced by All the Leaders of the World!
(It was only a matter of time until we won!)

Every day it gets worse. New York City and Los Angeles are now requesting that residents photograph and report social distancing offenders to the police through dedicated web portals.
"Snitches get rewards!" says the mayor of Los Angeles. "We want to thank you for turning folks in."
The state of New Jersey is arresting people who voice dissent.
The state of California is filling skateboard parks with sand and arresting surfers.
The state of Hawaii is issuing citations to people who go to the beach.
All churches have been closed by government order. Police are dumping broken glass in church parking lots.

And the entire world, and most of the people in it, is embracing similar actions.

I could go on, but it gets really morbid and even more hopeless, so I'll stop.

I read today that the lockdowns favor the incumbents in most districts, because challengers have no feasible means of campaigning or gaining name familiarity. Another reason why the political leaders are largely in favor of continuing restrictions.

Adventure Team Joe hits the trail in search of ancient bristlecone pine trees in the southwestern United States:

SCU-HQ: Like, Whateverz - Page 11 Bcone1

SCU-HQ: Like, Whateverz - Page 11 Bcone2

SCU-HQ: Like, Whateverz - Page 11 Bcone3

SCU-HQ: Like, Whateverz - Page 11 Bcone4

Bristlecone pine trees are among the longest-lived species on Earth, with some examples having been dated to around 5,000 years old.
The trees seen here, perched on the side of a cliff in the U.S. state of Utah, are estimated to be about 1,600 years old.

The surrounding, smaller trees are mostly spruce trees.

(Unfortunately, many of my photos from this hike were not in focus, a problem I have not previously had when using this particular camera. I don't know what was going on, but obviously the trees were not in a mood to be photographed. Good excuse for another attempt, I guess!)

Dave I’m totally loving the outside pictures. I especially love the second picture because of the view in the background. That’s a shame that many of your photos from this hike were not in focus but your completely correct on it’s a good excuse for another attempt. Let’s just hope the trees are going to be in a mood to be photographed alongside your figure. Thanks for sharing your outside pictures Dave.

Mattel Star Wars Darth Vader Barbie

One of the best features of this figure is the Darth Vader-ish shadow she casts!

Other than that, play value, or photo-story value, is limited. Both arms are molded with bent elbows and offer only limited articulation at the shoulders. The legs are typical Barbie legs, hinged at the hips, with the range of motion further limited by the narrow pencil skirt.

It appears the costume cannot be removed, at least not easily. It is sewn together with a molded-in-place hard plastic corset over the top of everything.

This Barbie is able to stand in one position and appear beautifully menacing, but that's about it.

The figure doesn't even include a light sabre!

This was an ill-advised spur of the moment purchase several months ago. Now that the figure is unboxed, resale value is essentially zero.

Mattel is releasing an entire line of Star Wars themed Barbie dolls for the collector market. Some of them look pretty cool:

The 1/12 scale instruments are well detailed. The keyboard is especially nice. I hope you can find something similar in 1/6 scale.

I got these from a UK eBay seller called beautifullyhandmade: https://www.ebay.com/sch/beautifullyhandmade/m.html

Most of their stuff is made in China and is available from other sellers, although at the time I was looking, I could only find the drum kit and keyboard from them. They seem to specialize in 1/12 "dollhouse scale" rather than 1/6, which is too bad.

Great pair of demonic rock chics there. Very Happy

The instruments are absolute class! Can't say I've come across that UK seller before.

Are the figures customizable i.e. can the wings and horns be removed ?
