| Is it wrong that I think some of those outfits look kinda cool? The fishing guy and the camping guy outfits work. I rather like the cricket sweater, although the trousers would benefit from a tighter weave. I noticed the mention of Sindy dolls. I'm sure all you UK collectors will be excited to learn that a re-issue of the original Pedigree-style Sindy dolls is in the works by a UK-based company called Kid Kreations: https://shimmyshim.com/2019/07/28/2020-sindy-dolls-revealed-at-dollycon/When I was a kid, receiving a "hand-made" rather than a "store-bought" uniform for my GI Joes would have been a major disappointment. I was a spoiled, selfish little brat. Nowadays, if I had such a treasure from one of my grandparents or aunts, I'm sure it would be one of my most treasured possessions. _________________ ... DAVE

Totally agree. How our values change as we age. And amazingly it's usually for the better too! |

Shhhhh, I have seen a few of those jumpers on these very boards...
...pretty sure my ears are burning. My nan was an habitual knitter and so the SKJ boys had their fair share of knitwear. Joe not only has vintage knitwear... .. he also makes it look cool!! This, of course, is a modern reproduction kindly and expertly made by Reddragon's mum. The original has been lost in time. I do still own some actual granny-knit. Summer 1974. Joe, Hank and Bruce. check out Hank's yellow wolly hat! [/ Just goes to show that if you wear something long enough it will come back into fashion! _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | I can only recognise that style of knitwear from having been induced to watch some old tapes of "Starsky & Hutch" if I have the names correct! Apparently those things were considered "cool" at one stage? What is it? Jumper, cardigan, coat, jacket...robe?
I have always maintained that the 70's were the Decade Taste Forgot. Don't worry, ...I have personal photos to prove it! |

| Too funny! I have to admit that the one knit set that wasn’t displayed on a figure (brown sweater, green trousers and hat) didn’t oook that bad.
