Does anyone else think that shark looks a bit "friendly" in the face? I think it's that smiley mouth.

Good one, Wolfie!!!
I dunno, I don't think he looks all that friendly... I think he makes a nice looking shark and definitely has the size you were looking for, sadly (for your frogmen).
I think Kev has the right idea. A little paint work could make him a lot more fearsome.
Glad he arrived safely, Jim, nice pics!!!

In the first pic the shark looks like it's come up to receive a little McHappy Meal treat from the diver rather than a sharp knife to the face. GWS are NOT noted for their delicate eating style, nor their adaption to hand-feeding as in orcas. They are supposed to be SCARY! It would be a shame to get such a good shark body-wise and size-wise only to have the face "Disney-fied". Notice how much better it looks in the shot where the mouth is all but hidden by the unfortunate wetsuited figures body?
I had the exact same problem with a proper 1/6 scale horse I bought that had a body that was perfect in every way but the dumbest cutesie-poo expression on its face and female glamour eyes complete with eye-shadow and long curled lashes. Took me a little while but I remodelled it to something more approximating a real horse. I think the fixing the shark would be far easier, just using paint....and give a very scary result.
I also did some work on my own shark to make it more realistic. (Coincidentally mine took so long to get here I had to remind the seller (in China) several times that he still owed me a shark. It went over the "open a case" time frame so I was getting a little worried. Eventually though it did arrive.)
THIS is the one I bought, although it may not be the cheapest place to buy it from. Prices vary hugely!

I'm thinking this shark was more geared toward young kids..With the way the mouth and teeth are shaped there LeStryge... I noticed the teeth are to close together for one...lol But like I said, for $13.77 I'm happy...lol
Don't let those baby teeth fool ya this is one hungry shark!
Yours was a WAY better deal than I had to pay for mine. I wasn't meaning to be critical of your version as a whole, I think the rest of the body is good, and certainly a major improvement on that pathetic little tiddler from the original release. What I was suggesting was some simple ways it could be made to appear more threatening and lifelike just around the mouth. Sort of a kitbash really. My own needed a few little tweaks with paint on mouth and pectoral fins to achieve an appearance more akin to the real thing.

That's ok... ...No problem... I'm not very creative with paints etc...lol So afraid i'd mess it up instead of improving...lol
Thanks Dreadnought! Thanks SCU_HQ..
No teeth shark... It would gum Gijoe to death...

I'd be okay with the Pygmy Shark Surprise, but I have to say what has really always bothered me about the Hasbro shark is the big groove cut around it from the twist-tie packaging.

Watch this footage of just such an incident you describe,.....in real life! Notice that the mark seems to fade after the removal. (Start at around .50 to avoid the talking heads.)

Nonsense Jim! Have a go, ...never know what you can do until you try! And truly, you CAN'T "mess it up"!
Use acrylic artist's paint ...(cheap!) and if you don't like the result just sit your shark with its head in water (no great problem for a shark!) for a while and the paint will all fall off back to the original.

So, have you thought of giving him a name?
Smiling Bruce...
