Hi all , had this jeep a few years . Only had it out the box twice Known as the MUTT , built by Ford , It was designed to replace the earlier M38 Jeep from the Korean war times . The U.S forces wanted a new " Military utility tactical truck " hence the name MUTT . I hope I might work on this at some point , I really wished I had got the decals sheet for it from Patches of Pride , but they now sold out . If anyone knows where I can get instrument decals in 1/6th , please advise . I lean towards Marines , however you can see it`s decked out for the U.S Army . More Pics with crew to follow . My Marines are gutted they still have to walk everywhere .

Brings back memories. We still had those in service in the Canadian Army when I joined in 1982 along with the M38's. They were all replaced by the German Iltis in the mid 80's.

They were... wait, what? Who won that war again?
Nice looking rig. I know, Chip, that you have a meticulous eye for museum-quality detail, but... why not just have your Marines steal the Jeep... I mean MUTT... from the Army and go at it with some rattle-can paint to make it their own?

I also well-remember those humongous AN/VRC 46 radio sets, which we continued using into the 1990's, along with the PRC-25's.

Great looking jeep chip! Really cool to see it from all the different angles too!
Let's hope they get to the Amo Arms in time, before 'Uncle Bob' wades in too sort it all out!

I am still a collector at heart , so wouldn`t want to change it that much , and I don`t think those M.P`s would let my Marines get away with it !
Thanks for the kind comments and interesting info .

What a fantastic looking piece of kit !!! I don't see any envy emoticons on the message tab because I'd need a few here
Any chance you could make up the decal you need with photoshop, printer sticker paper etc.?

Along with Willys, Ford made jeeps for WWII too. I heard you couldn't very well tell the difference between the two so Ford had their name embossed on most of the bolts used in construction so people would know it was a Ford.

I absolutely covet your jeep, but can you please wave your often demonstrated magic "weathering-wand" over it? The newness and lack of dirt spoils the wonderful picture!
