This is the last of my "Adventures of GI Joe" from 1998. I only have three, The Challenge at Hawk River, Rescue the Pygmy Gorilla and this one Save the Tiger. I don't recall any more made in this series, but it doesn't mean there were not others.
This one is marked as Joe's 35th anniversary, although it was about 34 years after he was first introduced. Although the copyright may be 1998 and it hit the shelves in 1999? I don't know, I wasn't collecting at the time, I probably got it in 2000.
Anyway, I found that I have yet to release this figure from the packaging, unlike the two previous I have posted.
At one point I had purchased an item lot on ebay, which included a loose tiger from this set along with some Max Steel and MAM items. The one in the box has what looks like a tracking collar, the loose one doesn't have it.
Although the plastic used on these tigers seems to be the same, I don't understand why on the loose one the body has yellowed when the head and tail hasn't. It photographs more yellow than it looks in person. Another photo showing the tigers face.
And the box back, with the comic. My printer/scanner seems to not scan the edges very sharp, so I had to use a sharpening tool in Photoshop to try to make it easier to read.
I hope somebody might like it.
Daryl

Another great looking set Daryl! The tiger looks the same as the action man orange one, does the tiger have a scar?

Thank you very much Daryl for sharing your boxed Save the Tiger set. Everything I’m just loving about this set. His head sculpt is just brilliant.

I've seen photos of the orange one, and it does look the same. But, a scar? These tigers don't seem to have one, does the AM version have one?

Oh yes! The tiger sure has a scar on his left cheek.

Thanks Alexander, I didn't know the AM version had a scar.
The Joe version doesn't have one.

Thanks Dave, this is the last of the three I have.
The Adventures of GI Joe had the comics, after that when Hasbro made the figures as the Adventure Team they no longer had comics on the back of the box, instead a little bit of a backstory with an illustration.
I wish they had continued with the comics.

Me too Daryl! I specially like the way the story was left open-ended. Just enough to provide an adventurous scenario for the kid to continue in his own imagination while he acts it out with the figures. Smart marketing!

Man Daryl, why wouldn't I like this I missed this one of yours cause I had already commented on your others Its a great looking set. It looks really cool. I see what you mean about the yellow on the Tiger, he has a very good sculpt...bright white! The art of the Joe is different than the figure? Is there variants or was that done on purpose? Just wondering cause the figure looks to be a black man or Indian rather than a tan Caucasian white man. I have nothing against it, I love diversely in characters and people. He looks really good, just wanted to know if Hasbro was doing the variant stuff again or still.
The box and comic look classic, still vintage goodness Daryl. You took great pics and good showcase as always

Oh, I see. That's cool If I was collecting these and I knew that, I'd probably want both'em so I could have 2 different characters Your welcome Daryl

Loving that set Daryl.
My kids were playing with UK Modern Action man in the early 90's .. you had so much more choice of sets then..especially the 'military sets "
Great to this one - thanks for sharing.
