Now that’s a a picture I would never imagine seeing Robinson Crusoe on Mars. Liking the picture.

It was an old movie Alex.
Not a bad show, if you are prepared to suspend disbelief for a while.

I did change the sky to fit in with the poster but wasn't happy with the result.
Not all that keen on CG effects.

I personally like the second photo, with the orange sky.
To me it looks more like Mars.

But I'm really curious how you did the hair for the second
figure.

Thanks Dean & Daryl! Always great to get such positive comments.

As for that hair Daryl, well lets just say a charity shop doll with dark hair lost her head for the cause.
I cut the scalp around the hairline to make a wig-like arrangement then used my non-existent hairdressing skills to hack away all the excess hair.
Luckily I was trying to model a Neanderthal effect, not some smart "do", but when I got on location so to speak, the damned wind blew it out so it appears FAR too large.
Didn't have anything with me to tone it down, so what you see is the result.

Those Martian winds combined with the low humidity result in an almost permanent Bad Hair Day situation there in the foothills of Olympus Mons - yet another peril of interplanetary exploration.

Another reason to ensure a well-fitted space helmet?

The red sky one Gary?
Hmm, maybe I made the wrong choice.
I do try to "keep it real" usually, but of course a red sky would seem appropriate.

Didn't have a monkey but then found one in my Tiki Bar amongst all the cocktail swizzle sticks and accoutrements.
It sits on the edge of a glass I think, ....and it's green, but hey this is a foreign planet!

The sky is red on Mars, so the choice is appropriate. As one of my friends once pointed out about all the funny coloured skies in ST: TOS, if the sky were any colour but blue the atmosphere would likely be poisonous.

Yes, the sky is certainly red in the movie mentioned, but then so is being able to breathe without a helmet.

And TOS, if the atmosphere WAS another colour and "poisonous", then if we were here at all, we would have evolved to breathe it and thus it would not be poisonous.

How about a Martian Dust-Storm then?

I think the hair turned out very well. Cavemen types didn't exactly have do's.
The wig idea worked out really well.

That last frame with the dust storm is really nice.

I'm guessing that's a MAM uniform? It looks familiar, I'm sure I've seen it
before. But I'm not sure if I've seen the head sculpt. It doesn't look familiar
to me...

Humans would not evolve to breath the poisonous atmospheres on other planets. Moreover, these were all supposed to be "Class M" planets, capable of sustaining human life.

The uniform is a neat little printed leotard-like body suit from the Space Commando set, which comes with a whole lot of wearable rocket-like equipment and guns etc.
(Although the space pistol he's holding in the photo actually belongs to Dr. Evil.)

ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS 0oreAU

The head sculpt is the original one from the set and is lightly flocked. It does look a fair bit "younger" than the traditional MAM
I was able to complete this outfit with the very generous assistance of Dean (RUSTYGUN) who kindly sent me all the missing pieces.

That's were I saw the suit before. I knew I had seen it somewhere.

I thought the pistol looked Captain Action. I have the Cap and Dr.
Evil from Playing Mantis. I know where Dr. Evil is, not remembering
where I put the Cap. I have planned to photograph them once I
have the two of them together.

I never really collected the so-called MAM villains, but since Dave very generously sent me my own Dr. Evil I have had lots of fun doing various scenarios with him.
It's a change from having to portray the hero all the time!

My brother and I lamented that we had 12 "good guys" to every "bad guy"
when we were growing up. That's why I have made it a point to collect as
many "bad guys" as I could as an adult.

I don't collect Max Steel, but I have collected a bunch of his enemies. Same
with MAM, and Joes real American heroes villains.

Maybe it's a bit like actors who say they love to play the villains.
You get to do the best death scenes!  What a Face

I bought a job-lot of three Max Steel figures quite cheaply just recently. That was after I read that they have the best articulation of any of the plastic figures and therefore are great for head-swaps.

PS: I am now trying to get the red dust out of my figures that I used.
That damn stuff is nearly impossible to eliminate.
And it stains!
