Subject: Prof Gangrene and Antifreeze Wed Dec 01, 2021 6:26 am
I think I have found all of my MAM collection, I'm starting with Professor Gangrene and Antifreeze. I'm starting with the original Gangrene, my favorite of the character. I got this figure in the box, I was a bit dismayed to dig him out and his left leg was not attached. But he was able to stand for the photos. This one is from 1997.
His backpack holds liquid, the red on the bottom will travel to the top when the pack is tilted, which it does on the harness.
He came with ID cards in four languages, each on its own card.
The next is from 2000, I got this one used but as far as I know is complete, he has a "bubble" chest. When pressed his chest will move, and "bubble" through the netting of his uniform.
My third is from 2001, I also got this one loose but I think he is complete. Push down his left arm and the head turns around to show a different face.
Last is Antifreeze. I got this figure in the package, and he had liquid in his chest as I recall. If he did, it has unfortunately dried up. He came with his "ice" club.

I’m so pleased that you think that you have found all of your MAM collection and that your be showing us each one Daryl I’m even more pleased that you started with the best mam villain Professor Gangrene muwhahaha! Then showing us Antifreeze. The original Gangrene from 1997 is the simplest figure out of all the Gangrene’s that Hasbro created. The Gangrene from 2000 is my complete favourite out of all the Gangrenes that Hasbro created. I really really liked how you explained what play action you could do with each villain figure mostly by pressing or squeezing their chest. Really looking forward to seeing more pictures of your mam collection Daryl.

Thanks Dal!
Thanks Alexander! Since you are the expert on MAM, I'm hoping you can confirm if the Gangrene's I got loose are complete, and if the Antifreeze figure had liquid in his chest.
My plan is to next show the Dr. X figures I have. I don't think I have half of the ones made, but I have several.

Oh I wouldn’t call myself a expert on MAM in the slightest, I’m just a huge fan of MAM. I can confirm that all your Gangrene's who are loose are 100% complete . If you had pressed the button on his belt it would have then pumped green liquid through the middle of his chest. Got the information from Anti-Freeze | Action Man Wiki | Fandom. I think all the green liquid is all dried up with age now. Looking forward to seeing next showing your Dr. X figures.

Thank you Alexander.
I dug and found the card back for Antifreeze. You are correct in that you push his belt buckle to move the liquid. I had forgotten that. I got him years ago before I took a bit of time from the hobby. Unfortunately the liquid in mine is dried up. The liquid in the back pack for the first Gangrene is still good.
Considering your collection, I find you an expert on MAM. You know a lot more than me of the toy line.
Thanks for confirming my Gangrene's are complete!

Excellent clear photos Daryl! I too have the "pull-the-arm-down" Gangrene, but I've never really worked out just what to do with it. Haven't got the bloke with the wild dreadlocks though. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your collection.
