I have a few of these old mam that were my sons , in my loft , you can’t use them to display your vam uniforms because of his huge bear claw hands , so thought I’d have a go at draughting on some vam hands …I think they look ok and will be trying a spare uniform on him forthwith….I think he looks German..?

well worth the effort Dean..I totally agree about MaM's hands.. I tried this myself and think it looks OK?
although I have tended to try and keep the black gloved figures as is.. more military..?
Keep up the good work

Yep, those HUGE MAM hands are a nuisance, and the fact that they are not removable precludes him wearing so many great uniform jackets etc. I have in the past opened the sleeve seams and re-sewn them to get a particular outfit on, but then of course it tends to become permanent. I may have a go at transplanting hands myself if I can source some smaller ones.

R.G how hard were the MAM hands to replace ? Was it a case of heat and pull ? Or is it a totally different fitting , and you had to cut and drill ? I am wondering Barry , if the hands are not so hard to take on and off , you could consider removing the MAM hands dressing , and replacing after .

He's certainly got that square-jawed, blue-eyed Teutonic look happening, and that uniform and helmet really set it off!
Chip, I think the connections at the wrist of a MAM are a bit more complicated than those other figures that simply pop off. I'm reluctant to pull any harder in case I break the articulation.

They were very easy to replace …..took about 10 minutes to do both hands … I cut both the hands off level with the wrist , then drilled out the remainder of the peg…. Pulled out the broken bits of peg with pliers, then found a drill bit the same size as the action man peg , drilled it into the plastic , popped the peg in …easy…

Thanks for clearing the hands swap method up . Seems like replacement is the only way then ?
I purposely obtained the Chip Hazard figure for my Avatar . He looks as good as ever in your pic .
