I recently grabbed one of my grail pieces, the Action Team French officer. I was able to acquire a late issue uniform sets worn by a blow molded figure. There was no insignia on the top of the kepi; not sure if these late releases lacked them; or if it fell off. I put the uniform on a Gi Joe man of action and gave him Cotswold socks; but otherwise he’s original.
As he arrived:

Vive la difference! You could always print and replace the kepi insignia?

I brought the same uniform years back in a bag , it looked really nice but when I got it home and opened it in good light it had suffered some quite bad fading . It`s a nice uniform , I agree with Barry gotta be worth trying to print one off , or keep your eyes on eBay , you never know .

Magnitudes of difference replacing the smiling budget figure with a classic style. Great looking uniform!

Thanks for the kind words! My foreign legion commandant (major) had barely checked in when a warrant officer came in requesting some leave.

That's a REALLY difficult uniform to find now at a decent price. Yours looks to be in excellent condition too. A great get for your collection. Whoever put that on a blow mold should be sued for sacrilege, or as your Commandant might say: 'Sacre bleu!!'

The good thing about the uniform sets fitted to blow molded figures as display sets is that they are usually in good condition just sitting in a box. I believe Palitoy did something similar with ceremonial uniform sets around the time of Charles and Diana’s wedding to appeal to the tourist market.
