| A while ago I started a series of Vietnam themed kitbashes using the shirt and pants from the second Issue Action Man Soldier... I had lots these lying about but could never find a use for them until I started researching Vietnam era uniforms and noticed how similar these AM uniforms were were to the US uniforms of that era - the four pockets and the brighter shade of green as opposed to the British olive drab of the era. While I had done of a few 'bashes of Vietnam grunts, I had never done any using these particular fatigues. Until now... Apart from three pieces of Cotswold kit, this guy is kitted out in all Hasbro/Palitoy gear... GI Joe Action Marine helmet, M16 from the Rifle Rack card, knuckle knife from the Australian Jungle Fighter set and the knife is in a scabbard by Cotswold... The harness is also by Cotswold. Web belt, canteen and cover are standard Hasbro issue. The boots come form the same source as the shirt and pants - the second issue Action Man Soldier basic figure... Claymore bag is by Cotswold and the grenades are standard Hasbro issue... The second guy is a M60 Gunner... Kitted out as his buddy is with the addition of a pair of shades from the GI Joe Classic Collection Korean War Pilot basic figure and an ammo box from the Action Man version of the Bivouac set... Also sporting an ammo belt from the Action Man Commando set... The M60 is from the Heavy Weapons set... My two latest recruits with a few of my earlier 'Nam kitbashes, two Air Cavalry personnel and a Tank Commander in the middle... "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning!"
