Great figures Chip. I'm not exactly familiar with Michael Herr, But I am familiar with Larry Burrows'
work. A great shame about him and three other journalist's killed in a helicopter crash at Laos.

Are you familiar with David Hume Kennerly? He won a pulitzer for a photo he took in Vietnam. There was once
a made for TV movie based on his life in Nam called Shooter (a slang term for a photographer). It was on, I think,
the CBS network around the early '80's. Luckily I taped it on VHS, as I was at work at the time it aired. I would like to
transfer it to DVD.

Always great to see these guys again, Chip. The are part of a much larger journalist group of course .

Thanks chaps , not heard of David Hume Kennerly before , I had a look for books by him on Amazon , could only find two , both 2nd hand and expensive . I shall investigate further though . Thanks Daryl .

In the TV movie, there was mention of him looking to photograph for Life Magazine. His site is:

He was very young during this time. The photo is marked 1971.



In this photo he is on the right, Dirk Halstead is on the left.

There were a lot of journalists that died in Vietnam. But he survived, and is apparently still alive today.

He also has custom made ear protectors in his helmet band .

The film crew is looking great! I love that photog vest in the third pic!

These guys are so cool, and well put together. I could easily see the guys covering any news event across the globe .
