I wonder if the 1997 logo, featuring a "G" superimposed over an "X" with a sword between them, was intended to represent the evil alliance between Professor Gangrene and Doctor X?

I think maybe Hasbro wanted you the kid to imagine that Doctor X and Professor Gangrene to represent the evil alliance between them.
