This is my motley crew I’ve assembled for my upcoming dio, battle of the bulge.
Thanks to dal for a few bits I got from him.
Just got to decide what to use for snow, as I don’t want anything permanent.

Salt and flour have been suggested.

Great looking crew Dean! I think flour would certainly be cheaper than salt? Looking forward too seeing the new shoot.

Great set up Dean the salt is looking really good I think that it's possibly easier to use than flour as that can get quite dusty on your figures clothes and boots scratch

This is gonna be intense!

I remember being a kid and, back in the pre-cable, pre-vcr, pre-streaming days, the movie The Battle of the Bulge was scheduled to be broadcast... over two nights, because it was so long. Nine or ten year old me, being deeply interested in WWII, and in tank battles in particular, was so excited!

And then, another channel showed the sci-fi film, War of the Worlds, on the same night as the second part of Battle of the Bulge. Shocked

What a dilemma I faced! I was as much a science fiction fan as I was a Second World War enthusiast.

I chose to watch Battle of the Bulge on our small old black & white television set, while the rest of the family, and some visiting family friends, watched War of the Worlds on the big color set in the living room. During every commercial break I would run in to the other room and catch a few minutes of War of the Worlds, and ask my dad what was happening.

I'm lucky, I guess, that my personal reminiscence about the Battle of the Bulge is so safe and fun.

Great story…
Like you I was a huge ww2 movie fan when I was a kid , couldn’t get enough of them, I like sci fi also but anything ww2 was my favourite….still hugely into it to this day , I have many books , dvds…. I have a collection of ww2 deactivated weapons , binoculars, gun sights , helmets , parts of tank tracks , medals , raf stuff , log books uniforms, as well as all my action men,
You may have noticed that all my dios are ww2 based….I think there may be a reason for that….. lol!

Ok so I’ve found some snow…. lol!
Comes in different bag sizes …..I bought a 25 kg as I need a lot….
It’s silica sand….?
Looks just like salt , except you can’t put it on your chips… lol!
But it looks good though …very snowy…
