Subject: FMS FJ40 "1/10 Scale RC" Fri Mar 22, 2024 12:02 am
The FJ40 arrived today!!
It's actually more close to 1/6 than 1/10.
I wanted to share this as I've not done much 1/6 stuff in a while. Things in 1/1 life have been kind of tough since December. So this has been a nice positive thing.
The stock shocks syill allow for some 4 wheel flex.
Svetlana is on a TBL S27, so with a head she's stands roughly 10.5". In human size this is about 5'3", so this "1/10 scale" RC will fit a petite driver. I will get the measurement comparisons later, but based on some quick math the other day, I'd say this one is about 1/7 scale, so a bit closer to 1/6 scale than 1/10.
The interior styling is nice. Quite detailed.
Over all I am pretty happy with this thing. Yes it could be closer to 1/6 to make more awesome but given how small some 1/6 vehicles are, I'm pretty happy customer.
I don't know when I'll take it out. Given that my hobbies are onesixth first and rc second. I won't want to get it too mucky. I have a few modifications in mind. I would like to add some white wheels for a more vintage look, maybe some wheel spacers to give it a wider wheel base, and maybe a winch and some more lights. I need to find the way to make the existing light work, as I believe the headlights are the only ones which are functional.

Nice! The interior detail is amazing. I just looked it up online, nice RC features.
I wonder if the front seats could be modified to sit a little farther back for more legroom, so 1/6 figures could sit inside easier?

Thanks for sharing with us a whole load of pictures of the FJ40. I’m really liking the colours of the FJ40 and Wow Sarah you’re right the interior styling is nice. Quite detailed. Looking forward to seeing it being road tested outside which I believe all 1/6 scale or in my case mam vehicles should definitely be road tested outside. So in the future your hoping to do some modifications on it hu. Well looking forward to seeing what they will look like. It’s brilliant to see you back posting once again Sarah.

Very cool! Even though it’s a tad underscale, you’ve show how smaller 1/6 figures can fit inside. You might already know, but the same company makes a 1/6 Suzuki Jimny.

Thanks Gary! Well, its going to be staying yellow, that much is certain. It took a while to luck out on a yellow for less than the typical market prices.
I am thinking some nice metal wheels, probably painted white in that vintage style and some aggressive tires. A winch, as well as new shocks and maybe some lighting upgrades. I want it to stay mostly retro, but with soon modern add ons.

Thanks Daryl! Yeah I'm actually blown away by the level of detail. There is a mod out there. This guy had some 3D printable STL files.. I might have to look into getting the file, then asking the librarian at Uni to print off the brackets in black.

Thanks Dal! I have a few ideas in mind. I want to take some pictures when it's green and raining, I need to let some snow melt and scout some locations. I know the look I need, it's just finding it.

Thanks Nate! I actually have the Jimny too. 🫣 I Got it in a black Friday sale in 2021, I couldn't resist. I feel like it was not priced correctly, because all in, including the date fee the post office charged, it was $208.00 CAD... At that price, how was I not getting it? I am considering painting it as I've not done much with it.

The new wheels look boss! Those jack stands add an impressive sense of realism to the image. When I first saw the pic over on Instagram I thought it was a shot of a real rig.
