Ivan climbed Ben Rinnes on the 22nd July, his highest ascent yet. It is a Corbett, a Scottish mountain between 2500 and 3000 feet high with at least 500 feet of descent on all sides. It is the highest free-standing mountain in Moray a Scottish county north of the Cairngorms. There is a snap of him on top of the trig point where the Ordnance Survey records the height as 840m. He is kneeling on a view indicator plaque pointing to hills and other landmarks in all directions installed by the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
This is one of him a few metres away on top of the highest of the several granite tors on and around its summit and named the Scurran of Lochterlandoch. This is slightly higher than the trig point at 841 m or 2733 feet.
Pictures were taken by Ivan and text done by Ivan.
