| Real poles are usually about 18 inches in diameter, so you're going to need something about 3 inches in diameter, that's a fair sized lump of wood |

Here in the UK (and also on the Continent I believe) they are more usually about 10-12 inches in diameter. Another useful online Scale Converter can be found here It even has a step by step procedure for converting BETWEEN different scales without going through 1:1. ie converting from 1/76th to 1/6th direct. |

| Don't forget though whatever diameter at the base they all will have a natural taper. |
