DANTHECOAT PROTOTYPE SPACE RANGER KITBASH

I picked up some factory samples (prototypes) from the Space Ranger Sets

The first one i used was a pre sale prototype White Helmet of the Zargonite Space Pirate and a sample run of the Space Commando Tabbard rather than boringly place on a shelf i thought i would bash them into a Space Ranger Outfit that could stand alongside my other Space Ranger Beauty's

I also have a James Bond moonraker pistol that would look good on him mate, if you want it ? it is white and may well suit that look ?? give me a shout if you want it mate  

Thanks Dal thats really kind of you but since being infected by Vaughan i have to use ALL VAM

Honestly otherwise id never live it down and when Vaughan next visits he would bring me an identical VAM replacement

The space guys have not ever been my thing but its pretty cool and interesting to see them. Since I was a wee lad when they were released... were they a big selling point for Palitoy. I am curious because when Hasbro went from GI JOE Action Sailor / Marine etc after the war protests and so on...to Adventure team. It would be interesting to hear the change and what happened

The Space Rangers were Palitoys last ditched Attempt to become cool again as more and more of us were getting into space related toys, Star Wars etc. Was it successful ?? I dont think so really Len but some of us LOVE EM

Great bash, glad you actually use this kit rather that have it lifeless in some cupboard. If I can have my penny worth of opinion this bash would look amazing if the uniform was all white with a B&W tabbard....I-pad Space Ranger!!

2 Questions.

First is there a visor/faceplate in that helmet? In some pictures the reflection/glare of the flash says yes and on other there is none suggesting no "glass"

Second is the jumpsuit a Red Devil suit on back to front?

No visor in the helmet I didn't want to glue one in place so just slipped a plastic tube over his head as I didn't want to touch the prototype.

They look great Dano, I nearly bought those pre-production helmets and tabbards to do the very same thing... But I think to the right place especially seeing as you've got kitbash master Vaughan teaching you young padawan you've definitely picked up the skills
