| These wonderful movies were shot here in Spain, in the Almeria desert. You can still visit the Western village were literally hundreds of movies in the 60s and 70s were filmed. Try to find the Alex Cox eighties movie "Straight to Hell" with the Pogues, for example. A few years ago a very funny Spanish movie ("800 bullets") was shot there. I'll leave you a period pic of the two men with a Spanish "Guardia Civil" which act here as rural police, and probably were in charge in the 60's (still Franco's time) of that area, probably checking the weapons  |

| I have been to mini Hollywood and Texas hollywood a couple of times , great place, have to try and dig out the photo's ,me dressed up as a cowboy !, my mother in law has a place in Mojacar,well Los Gallardos ,lovely bit of Spain. makes you wonder why they called them spahgetti westerns? , should be olive westerns ! or tapaz westerns ! or my favourite pealla western !....... | |

| these western were build in the desert of Tabernas.We visited this funny place around 1990.It's dry,hot as a real desert.The people from there have a great show for the tourists.
It's in the south of Spain.Found Almeria, in the north you have Tabernas and in the south west the place where...
