I have built up quite an arsenal of barrel-less SLR rifles.

There is a good model shop not too far from where I work that sells brass and aluminium rods, but when confronted with a display full of rods I have no idea what size I require for the barrel and flash suppressor.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what size (mm or inches)  is needed? I don't think I have a barrell I can use for comparison purposes.

You can use modelling sprue or there is a mouldable plastic you can buy which does the same job .

I got to the model shop today armed with the broken barrel off an SLR for comparison and found some aluminium tubing of a suitable size. I got a length of 5/32, 1/8 and 3/32 for the suppressor, barrel and to go inside the barrel into the body of the gun for additional support.

I have enough for dozens of repairs as the tube is in 1m lengths!

The aluminium tube is great for gun barrel repairs.
I have done an MP5 and Lee Enfield today. I have a stack of SLRs and various other guns to do.
All it took was a small drill bit and super glue in addition to the tubing.

milliput is a 2 part epoxy putty like stuff that you mix like car body filler paste any good model shop should have it , poundland or failing that ebay hope that helps
