| Hey guys the other weekend I went on my 2nd camping trip with some of my pals, we had probably one of the best weekends you could ask for weather wise nice and warm and dry throughout a bit too hot for me at times but, hey we coped. Scott and Jon joined me,fortunately we got a lift going over from one of my friends which meant I was able to take both of them with me, we had to get several buses back but, by that point I'd used up most of my food and a fair bit of firewood so things were ligther and I had more space for them. I took laods of photos of them and the little Playmobil men who require much less space, first off after I inflated my mattress using the old natural pump (my foot) well the guys decided to test it ... And decided that it was very comfy later on when it cooled off a bit we went for a bit of a stroll and found a nice place with plenty of good views and better yet a good breeze so perfect for lieing down and relaxing for a while I should perhaps add at this point that we were staying at a campsite in Kniveton, Derbyshire, it is near Ashbourne and is apparently in the White Peaks (veyr important that it's in the White Peaks and not the Dark Peaks as it means we can have camp fires don't worry we're good at making fires and keeping them under control) Later on we started a fire going so we could have a nice veggie BBQ, they had some very well designed tables with old wheel rims set in the middle whihc was where you built your fire and it worked really well, also the sapce around the table worked nicely for me and one of my mates to set our Kelly Kettle (used for boiling water for drinks and such) on and they had plenty of bricks to borrow if we needed to put it in a more sheltered position closer to the ground. Anyway Scott was getting a bit impatient that he wasn't getting any food ... You can see the fire table in the background, we had baps and we got a nice big bag of salad which they grow organically at the farm it was very good stuff nice selection of different leaves and narsturtium flowers (even a geranium flower snuck in) mini Scott thought it looked very colourful and tasty so he decided to pose on my plate ... | |

| We had some good sunsets I don't think my camera does them justice and there was a much better more drmatic one when we went for a quick stroll before bed but, I didn't capture it for whatever reason We went for a proper walk on Saturday about 4 - 4.5 miles, on the weay we found an interesting lampost with a plaque and inscription giving conflicting dates but, it was beautiful enough to warrant a few photos Further along there were some more nice views and some nice soft looking grass so I suggested a lunch break and Scott posed for a few photos A bit further along and we found a nice stream, so me and a few of the guys and their dog decided to dip our feet, I'm fairly hardy and always enjoy getting in the water but, even for me it was feeezing | |

| We also walked past a hill which one of the guys was quite keen to visit called Wiggballow so we decided to climb it and have a quick explore Scott and the more accurate Mini Scott (Mark III) decided to pose to celebrate with some help I might add There were some very pretty tiny pink flowers and a nice thistle as a bonus there was a bee as well Back at camp in the evening and after some food we all settled down to enjoy some strawberries, mini doughnuts and toasting some marshmallows, one of the guys also brought some cans of beer and Jon unlike me decided to investigate one of the cans ... Unfortunately one can of beer is quite a lot for an Action Man's body to process in one go so Jon decided to have a lie down and sleep it off but, when he woke up ... What the heck! he wasn't sure whether he was imagining things or were the little people really raiding the strawberries and the doughnuts and was that another little man looking very happy on top of the pile of cans (Mini Dave takes after his real life alter ego and likes a good beer or some nice cider ) | |

Thanks you're right a potentially lethal combination of beer, Action Man and fire could have ended quite badly fortunately as I say they had these really great table with wheel rims to put your fires in which you can see in the photos which makes it rather hard for Jon even in his drunken state to get close enough to get melted although that being said I did make sure to keep the AM'sand Playmobil guys a safe distance form the fire just in case can't have any melted men | |
