Thanks Brian, I love it. I could never afford a boxed one when I was back in the UK. I managed to pick this beauty up in a vintage collectibles store just west of Toronto. I paid $220 which I think was a very fair price, it's in lovely condition as is the box.
Apparently this was the best selling toy of 1964, the year GI Joe arrived.
I also read somewhere that it is the best selling toy car of all time, not sure if this is correct, but I could see it being so.

Fascinating, who'd have guessed the most popular toy of all time was not the most popular toy the year it was introduced? That's an interesting bit of trivia. But considering every boy wanted to be Sean Connery and to have this car, I'm not that surprised.

Amazing that you were able to find it in a shop, in such nice condition and at a fair price. I would have guessed it came from ebay.

Well done!!!

Thanks Brian, I couldn't agree more with you, every boy in the 60's wanted a DB5 with all the gadgets, the shop sells all sorts of vintage collectables from furniture to pop signs to movie posters to toys, he wanted $330 for the car, but obviously was open to an offer.
