After completing the bridge I decided to knock up a quick small diorama/display based on D-Day fighting in the towns of France.

Started off with Base and backboard

Using Styrofoam or could be Polystyrene blocks built up a wall

Continuing D-Day theme 1904130_10152666930473383_1878639399809861338_n_zps692ab992

Used Polystyrene tiles for the base.

Continuing D-Day theme 10577049_10152666930503383_349753397926176942_n_zps0c7fa5ac

Added some extra bits and painted weathering and fire damage

I weathered the GI by using wire wool on the helmet to dull it and then applied soot/rust. Weathered his Garand the same way. Used rubble dust MIG on his clothes and boots and finally applied some soot to his face and hands.

You can pick it from B&Q or places like that cappy. Most use it for insolation or sound proofing. It comes in white, pink and orange. white is horrible as it has no strength, the pink is strong so you can cut it up without a mess and the orange is super tough! really hard to model with mate
