| Happy Wednesday everyone, Just wanted to share one of my completed projects (God it feels good to use that word for once!) from the weekend. Some of you may know, I have a poor habit of collecting projects left right and center. Most of these are of the 2 wheeled variety, though my 1:6 projects are piling up. In the motorcycle and car community a restomod is returning a vintage item to original form, with the addition of minor twists and changes. These usually involve updated technology or custom paint etc. To me, this figure falls into this description. I started with this lot of parts sent to me by a friend in Spain a few months back; Missing some pieces I had to improvise.... out come the tools. I wanted to retain as much of the original figure as possible. This meant knocking out rivets (which I have become quite adept at thanks to this exercise) Challenging with Geyperman figures due to the harder plastic, which can crack quite easily under stress. I ended up using the hands from a scrap Mike Power figure, broken legs from 1 broken Joe and 1 broken Action Man. Hands were also provided by spare EE arms I had acquired. Forearms are Mike power on the dark haired one, 2 left VAM forearms on the Blonde one. Not sure why, but under the flock the one head was already painted, Old Hasbro stock? I stripped them both down with rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs. I haven't decided what to do with the darker haired figure yet, at the moment he looks like a hung over Don Draper. The other, I thought I would take a different direction. I realize of course that there were never any PH Geypermen, but I am very please with the results! |

| Amazing! You've created two very unique figures Jon! The blond one's head sculpt especially looks distinctive from an AM or GI Joe.
Is the harder plastic why their bodies look more shiny that an AM torso would? _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. | |

| Thank you for the kind words!
I am quite proud of this one, it has reminded me of what my original goal was with these figures.
Yes, the bodies are indeed made of a harder plastic, almost identical to talker bodies, but more rigid. The molds are are different for the arms, one can't simply grab an VAM or Joe arm and slip it on. The forearms are slightly smaller as are the holes that line them up. I had to do quite a bit of modification to get things to fit together. The rivets are also quite different. |

| Nice going there, Jon! They both now have that distinctive soft/Squashy painthead Joe look, they look awesome! I personally would go with hard hands for those two _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation: | |
