| Fantastic set Clive, great reproduction of the original.
I had to get two so I could have one open and one sealed lol.
Its a shame that this and the Jungle Explorers riverboat didnt sell too well, thats why Alan Hall made these sets cheaper. He was planning to do the go-kart at the time but changed his mind as he thought it would not sell and at £25 he would have struggled to break even due to the amount of parts in it. He showed me some prototype parts for it once, a real shame it never made it into production. _________________ WHO WATCHES THE VOLGANS...

| Thanks chaps, @ Ca, My brother had this back in the day for his birthday (1971 I think) It was to go with his adventurer, we both had one each for that Christmas (1970). When I saw this set at ML in Caterham, I just had to get it. This set has been untouched and sealed in a bag since 2009. When I saw my brother earlier this year I showed this set to him (he had been drinking as usual) his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, and he almost started crying, he had a lump in his throat and struggled to talk, he was so happy to see it after all these years.. He started talking about the happy memories we had with this set in the frost and snow.. Also that year we lost our best school mate (road accident outside our school) I think that was also stirring in his memory as well. When it was time for him to go, he cluched the set and wouldn't let go of it, just like he was 9 years old again lol! - Beatlefan wrote:

I'm going to get another sledge, so I can open and play with it in the snow (photo story). That's a bargain, Brian Thanks all _________________ clivvers - saviour of the huMAM race @ MAMageddon 2009 - 2099 @ clivvers MAM Nation:

| Its amazing the feelings and emotions that our favourite toys can evoke in us Clive. So many happy long summer and short winter days spent playing with our vam! I started collecting for this very reason, when i first heard about the 40th stuff I went to Modellers Loft to get a "couple" of bits for sentimental reasons. Clearly it ended up as more than a couple of bits lol. _________________ WHO WATCHES THE VOLGANS... | |
