Got sick of my PH Joe - Seven not being able to hold any guns, so I've got him kitted out with a set of repro arms with KFGs, he looks awesome now and he can actually hold his .45 instead of it just sitting in his shoulder holster!

What do you think?

Some of my PH Joes can hold pistols but others can not...It doesn't really look natural though...
So I agree nothing holds a pistol like KFGrippers... Very Happy
Great pic TOMK! cheers

Yeah, the repro KFGs from the WalMart figures are actually very good arms and hands. I'll swap them out depending on what kind of photos I want to take. If it's just modelling a vintage uniform set, then he gets the hard hands, but if he's going to be posing with the rest of the team, then I have a choice to fit him with the KFGs... Cool

looking good ralph! It will certainly make taking action shots easier!. The biggest problem with the PH is the lack of being able to hold a weapon, fine to display, but no good for play time! cheers

I'm very much from the hard hand period and I don't remember feeling frustrated that they didn't really hold anything properly as a kid, but as an adult, playing with these guys means setting them up for photography and display and I find it really frustrating that hard hands cannot hold anything to make an interesting and realistic pose. Getting the right hands is important though and the repro KFGs from the Walmart line are actually very good, even if the figures in general suck! No

Great looking fig! The PH Joes/Action Men with the nose picker hands is the Achilles heel of the design. Instead of waiting nearly a decade to introduce better hands, using Marx-like gripping hard hands would have been a good fix. The True Heroes figs that Don Levine released in the 90s did just that.

Do you have any photos of the 'Marx-like gripping hard hands'?

I think the PH Joes hands got stretched out a bit over the years also... When we were children the
PH Joe hands were new and probably held a pistol a bit better than they do now 50 years later...lol

I bought some KFG hands from Joeman (Rick) a couple years ago and put them on my extra
Adventure Team Gi joes... They seem to be good!
