here it is - Tangent: In Wastwater, the Lake District, a selection of garden gnomes were put into the lake at a depth of 48 metres for divers to look at and make the lake more interesting. Three people drowned while trying to look for them, so the police took them away. The gnomes were then returned at a depth of 50 metres, and the police never took them away because health and safety regulations prevent police from diving that far down.

[quote="gibri"]Fantastic!!!
I've always loved deep sea divers, subs and SCUBA figures, but there is no good way to display them. I'm a little old (maybe) to be playing in the tub,
Pretty much what I'm up to just a bigger tub lol

Combining action figures, steampunk, and scuba diving!
This is what I should be doing, rather than pissing around with little bits of cardboard.
I'm not sure why REDDOG1 is no longer active on the forum, but he's apparently still active with Action Man Diving Adventures. Here's a video from within the last year or so in which he takes an action man submarine diving on an actual military shipwreck at Scapa Flow:
An interesting detail - and it fits in with a discussion I was having with Alex and Dal a few days ago about uses for compressed gas cartridges - is that REDDOG1 has rigged up an internal pressure mechanism using a compressed air cartridge to keep water from flooding the canopy of the submarine!

Certainly very interesting, but that murky water? While he's so busy watching his little Action Mann in the sub, a Great White could be stalking him. I hate diving in murky water!
